An army of spirit-filled emerging leaders boldly living out their calling and accelerating the gospel everywhere they go
To equip and empower emerging Leaders to fulfill God's purpose and advance the kingdom in every sphere of influence.
We, the Acts 1:8 Movement, affirm the following core beliefs, grounded in the
inspired Word of God and the historic teachings of the Wesleyan tradition.
These beliefs shape our mission, guide our ministry, and direct our
engagement in Christian service and global evangelism.
1. The Authority of Scripture
We believe that the Holy Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is
the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final rule of faith
and practice, revealing the will of God for salvation, doctrine, and Christian
living (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21).
2. The Triune God
We believe in one true, living God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit. God is holy, sovereign, and worthy of all worship and
obedience (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
3. Humanity: Created in the Image of God
We believe that human beings, both male and female, were created in the
image of God, designed for relationship with Him, and entrusted with
stewardship over creation. Every human life is sacred, possessing inherent
worth and dignity, regardless of race, gender, or background (Genesis 1:26-27;
Psalm 139:13-16).
4. The Fall and Its Consequences
We believe that Adam and Eve, through their disobedience in the Garden of
Eden, brought sin into the world, resulting in spiritual death, separation from
God, and the corruption of human nature. Because of this Fall, all people are
born with a sinful nature, inclined toward sin and unable to save themselves.
The consequence of sin is death, both physical and eternal, necessitating
redemption through Jesus Christ (Genesis 3:1-24; Romans 3:23; Romans
5:12; Romans 6:23).
5. Jesus Christ: Fully God and Fully Man
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was conceived by the Holy
Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles,
died on the cross as an atoning sacrifice for our sins, was buried, and rose
bodily from the dead on the third day. He ascended to the right hand of the
Father and will return in power and glory (John 1:1, 14; Philippians 2:5-11; 1
Corinthians 15:3-4).
6. The Necessity of Salvation
We believe that because of humanity’s sinful condition, salvation is necessary
for reconciliation with God. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith in Jesus
Christ, not by works. Through Christ’s atonement, we receive justification,
regeneration, and adoption into God’s family. The new birth is necessary for
eternal life, and believers are called to live in righteousness and obedience
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:23-26; John 3:3-7).
7. The Holy Spirit and Sanctification
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness,
and judgment. He regenerates, indwells, empowers, and sanctifies believers
for a life of holiness and service. Entire sanctification is God's will for all
believers, enabling them to love God and others wholeheartedly (John 16:8;
Acts 1:8; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-7; Romans 8:1-16).
8. The Call to Holy Living
We believe that God calls all believers to a life of holiness, empowered by the
Holy Spirit. This includes victory over sin, transformation into Christ’s
likeness, and full surrender to God’s will. We affirm John Wesley’s teaching on
entire sanctification—a second work of grace whereby believers are purified in
love and enabled to walk in obedience (1 Peter 1:15-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-
24; Romans 12:1-2).
9. The Church: The Body of Christ
We believe in the Church as the body of Christ, composed of all who have
been born again. The Church exists to glorify God, edify believers, and fulfill
the Great Commission. We affirm the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s
Supper as means of grace and signs of the believer’s faith (Matthew 16:18;
Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
10. The Great Commission and Missions
We believe that Jesus Christ commands His followers to make disciples of all
nations, proclaiming the Gospel and serving in love. The Holy Spirit empowers
believers to engage in evangelism, missions, and acts of compassion
worldwide (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:13-15).
11. The Return of Christ and Final Judgment
We believe in the bodily return of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead.
The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrepentant will face eternal
separation from God. The hope of Christ’s return inspires holiness and faithful
service (Matthew 25:31-46; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15).
12. The Resurrection and Eternal Life
We believe in the resurrection of the dead. Those in Christ will be raised to
eternal life with God in the new heaven and new earth, while those who reject
Christ will face eternal separation from His presence (John 5:28-29;
Revelation 21:1-4)..
My name is Korto Holder. By God’s grace, I was sent by my church to attend the Champion Bible and Leadership Institute—and my life has not been the same since.
Before attending the school, I thought being a Christian simply meant going to church every Sunday. But during my time there, my teachers taught me something much deeper: that what truly matters is having a personal and intimate relationship with God.
This truth touched my heart in a powerful way. I began to fast and pray more, and I developed a real hunger to read and study the Bible for myself. My relationship with God grew deeper.
Later, I also attended Camp Daniel, where we spent several days learning how to share the gospel and actually going out to tell others about Jesus. Before this, I believed that only pastors were called to do that kind of work. But through the teaching and the help of the Holy Spirit, I gained boldness to share God’s word and even to lead others.
I am so thankful for how God used this training to transform my life. Now I know that every believer—not just pastors—can be a witness for Jesus.
